Stopko is an electronic timing system designed for sport climbing. It supports Speed Climbing, Bouldering and Lead, and can be used both for competitions and for training or recreational activities.

Stopko supports Speed Climbing, Bouldering and Lead Climbing.
3. Can Stopko be used for both competitions and training?
Yes. Stopko can be used for competitions as well as regular training, recreational climbing, group activities and various climbing games.
4. Can Stopko be used with one or two climbing lanes?
Yes. Stopko can be configured for either a single climbing lane or two lanes. The two lanes can operate synchronously or independently, depending on the application.
Speed Climbing
5. Does Stopko support Speed Climbing?
Yes. Stopko provides electronic timing for Speed Climbing, including start and finish detection. False-start detection and reaction-time measurement are available as optional features.
6. Does Stopko follow IFSC Speed Climbing rules?
Stopko closely follows the IFSC rules for Speed Climbing. However, it is not IFSC-certified for official World Cup Speed Climbing competitions.
7. Can Speed competitions be held on two non-equal routes?
Yes. Stopko has dedicated Speed Qualification and Speed Finals modes for competitions on non-IFSC climbing walls. Two different routes are used, and every competitor climbs both of them. The times from the two climbs are combined to determine the result.
8. Does Stopko measure reaction time?
Yes. When used with electronic foot pads, Stopko can detect false starts and measure the competitor’s reaction time.
9. Can the two Speed lanes operate independently?
Yes. The two lanes can be synchronized for a standard Speed competition or operated independently when required for training and other applications.
Bouldering
10. Does Stopko support Bouldering?
Yes. Stopko supports electronic timing for Bouldering competitions and training. The event start, stop and reset functions can be easily controlled using a robust two-button remote control.
11. How does the Bouldering countdown work?
Stopko provides a countdown for the fully customizable climbing period, including 15-second sub-cycles.
12. Can Stopko be used for Bouldering interval training?
Yes. Stopko can be used for interval and circuit training, as well as competition formats.
Lead Climbing
13. Does Stopko support Lead Climbing?
Yes. The Lead mode was developed in close collaboration with climbing judges, based on the practical needs that arise during Lead competitions. It provides a countdown on the main display, while the PC screen simultaneously shows the elapsed time, making it easy for the judge to read the exact time when the climb is stopped.
14. Does Lead timing require a PC?
The more advanced Stopko operating modes, including Lead, require a PC running the Stopko software. Basic Speed operation can be used without a PC.
System and practical use
15. Does Stopko require a PC?
Not always. Basic Speed operation can work independently without a PC. Bouldering, Lead and advanced Speed modes require a PC running the Stopko software.
16. Can Stopko be permanently installed or used as a mobile system?
Both options are possible. Stopko can be installed permanently in a climbing gym or configured as a mobile system for competitions and other events.
17. What does a Stopko system include?
A Stopko system consists of the required display boards, start and stop devices, control electronics and optional accessories. A Mini PC with preinstalled software and a 14″ touch monitor are included as standard. The exact configuration depends on customer needs.
18. Can Stopko be used for purposes other than competitions?
Yes. Besides competition timing, Stopko can be used for training, recreational climbing, speed challenges, group activities, games, interval training and promotional events.
